NFL Recap: Broncos Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a close win over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to seal the ugly win.

Dominant Display Seals Game

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

In spite of their dismal performance, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to drive for a potential victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of sending out kicker Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

Fields struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York ended up with minus-10 net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," the coach commented after the contest.
