Paramount Skydance Will Eliminate Around 2,000 United States Roles – Update
Paramount Skydance will begin significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 American roles as part of a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August valued at $8.4bn.
More global layoffs are expected, as the firm intending to reveal complete information in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.
Prior news suggested the company aimed to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.
As of December 2024, the company employed about 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 contract workers.
The organization has not provided a response to a request for comment.
