Unveiling a Unique Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Poop on a Quest to Reach the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have encountered plenty of engaging independent titles. Yet, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Titled Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure features a protagonist that is actually a turd attempting to make its way to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."
How you interact is simple: press a one button to leap. Throughout 150 challenges, battle boss fights and access a shop to acquire outfits for your poop character.
Plan your actions precisely, since one error requires restarting the level. Bounce off bubbles to hurl yourself upward, navigate crumbling platforms, and activate triggers to unlock new areas. Gather currency and use them on tougher stages as things ramps up.
Visually, the game features vibrant stages and an amazing background music. The simple art with morphing geometric shapes could recall players of beloved games like Earthbound.
Even though hard to name other games where you are a piece of feces, gaming frequently included toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, players make throwables from character droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as plant food. Unsurprisingly, such content is present a lot in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.
Despite its silly concept, Unko Technica has already garnered notable awards, such as being named best at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. The demo is accessible at present on Steam, with the full game set to debut on Steam on November 19.
